?If you've ever broken down or been in a fender bender on the highway, you know that standing outside of your vehicle can be a scary thing. Drivers will speed by doing upwards of 60 to 70 miles per hour without a thought in the world. When the police, ambulances, or tow trucks arrive to offer assistance, drivers are still driving by in the lane closest to these vehicles at high speeds.

We here at Ramey Tazewell want to educate our customers so they know that this behavior is illegal according to Move Over laws. Too many emergency workers, road crews, and drivers are seriously injured or killed because people are not moving over. Move Over laws are clear in stating that when there are emergency vehicles on the side of the road, you should move over to the left lane if possible. When it isn't possible to merge, drivers should reduce their speed by 15 miles per hour below the posted speed limit.

Demonstrating safety is something we take very seriously, so we want our customers to be aware of Move Over laws. Take the time to tell your friends if they don't know Move Over laws; you may save a life!
